Sales & Marketing

A key part of Kokua’s results-oriented management strategy is developing a sales and marketing team that drives consistent, above-average revenues to each of our hotels.  Through our Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Kokua provides strong corporate support to the sales and marketing teams at each hotel to ensure their efforts are given the highest priority, reflect our corporate culture of excellence and, most importantly, are appropriate to the goals we want to achieve in the market.

Kokua identifies and recruits the best of the best and trains them to exceed revenue goals.  Our General Managers at each property lead this sales effort.  At Kokua, we believe that to ensure overall success, the General Manager has to maintain a hands-on involvement in the sales process.

While each independent brand or flagged property is responsible for driving their own marketing efforts, Kokua actively participates as full brand partners.  Together with important online selling resources and tools, industry reports and a state of the art sales data management system, we take full advantage of data mining to target, create, measure and track our sales and marketing communications.

Kokua provides the following sales & marketing support, but are not limited to:

  • Revenue performance-based goals & rewards
  • Action based objectives by market for both group & transient
  • Marketing & PR tools & strategies
  • Crisis communication management
  • Corporate expertise in government sales, GLBT & wholesale markets
  • Sales training
  • Recruiting
  • Market trend analysis
  • Cross selling & lead referral
  • Revenue management optimization
  • E-commerce oversight
  • Food & Beverage turn-key promotional programs

Social Media

At present, over 50% of the world’s population is under 30 years of age.  And no matter where they reside, most if not all of these active adults currently live on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Instagram, Pinterest or one of dozens of other social media sites.

So, as marketers, we no longer have a choice on whether we’ll engage in social media – our only choice is how well we do it.  To build a relationship with future hotel customers and guests, maintaining an effective online presence is essential.

Studies have identified four benefits to engaging in social media (functional, social, psychological and hedonistic). At Kokua, we’ve added a fifth monetary benefit as a predictor. As always, demographic factors (i.e., age and biological gender) are an important influence on the relative relationship between these benefits and participation.

Trust and commitment toward any given hotel or restaurant brand(s) are important factors that can enhance a customer’s relationship with all hospitality brands.  At Kokua Hospitality, we’ve taken social media and social media research to a new level.  Our dedicated Social Media Department focuses on building and expanding the presence of our properties on this essential platform.
